Testimonials

Tom Ray started out working on the family farm from the age of 5. He learned to drive as soon as he was tall enough to reach the pedals of the tractor, and started his own agricultural contracting business at the age of 16 after leaving school. Diesel was in his blood.

His first piece of equipment was a two-wheel drive Universal 550 tractor which gave way to a series of improved tractors ranging from Ford to Massey to Fendt.

After using the machinery from the family farm he began trading out the old machinery and renewing it with bigger and more modern equipment.

The business has grown over the years covering Dorset, Somerset and Devon. With continued investment in updating equipment the range of services has steadily increased along with an ever-increasing network of contacts and sources in the agricultural community.

A key factor of Tom Ray Agricultural Contracting is that the phone is never switched off and the team is available to customers 24/7. Tom is on the front line of the company at all times, always making sure that the customer's needs come first.

Tom employs a team made up of hand-picked local professionals with years of collective experience in the farming industry who treat each job as their own and maintain their equipment in top condition, with spares and tools ready on all job sites to ensure smooth workflow and efficient service. Most of the machinery is still under factory warranty. The team wear overalls at all times with the Tom Ray logo, creating a professional image.

We have now diversified into groundworks and plant to insure that all our staff are employed all year round. (www.tomraygroundworks.co.uk)

By using Tom Ray Agricultural Contracting you free up more time to concentrate on your livestock, hire extra hands only when you need them, and eliminate the need to invest large sums of money in equipment that you may only need a few times in a year. In addition, we do all the machinery maintenance and updating so you don't have to.
